Back home after nearly four months on a fantastic trip cruising from Southampton to Vancouver, Alaska, road trip around West Coast USA, then San Francisco back to Barcelona and then return to Manchester (via the Panama Canal both ways), could have stayed away longer!
Said goodbye to the Queen Elizabeth for a second time in Barcelona on Monday, we had a brilliant cruise and met loads of people who made it special including Jackie Stephens, Sue Charman, Pam Marciszewski Ellis, Lis Sowerbutts and our table companions Gill & Carol and Peter & Andrea.
Took a taxi to our hotel above the main Barcelona train station. Left our bags, as too early to check in and headed back into the town for a stroll around, the odd coffee and dinner in the Hard Rock, well where else!
Took the Barcelona to Paris TGV train the next morning, changed stations in Paris using the RER, to get the Eurostar, bit of a faff with the luggage and getting a ticket as most machines not working. Slight delay in getting into St Pancras, then took a train to Ebbsfleet where our friends Angela Pearson and Chris kindly picked us up and we stopped over with them and they even more kindly drove us home today.
Everything unpacked, washing on, bit of shopping picked up and just relaxing for the rest of the evening. Roll on our next adventure in four weeks: Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Canada here we come!
