Another windy day, but dry thankfully. Started off with a stroll in the morning market, where seafood was the main item on sale inc crabs of all kinds, scallops, fish and oysters. Seemed very expensive, £50 for a medium crab, where the average salary in the area is £800 per month.

Took a very crowded local tram to Goryokaku Tower and Citadel. As it was Saturday, the queue was a little long, but only 30 mins before we were viewing the cherry blossom at its peak, in the citadel park below. Loads of locals having picnics under the trees.

Headed on another crowded team to the red brick warehouses, old dock buildings converted into shops and restaurants.

Headed back to the ship, where the wind was still blowing strong, so didn’t take the walk along the waterfront!
