Atlantic Crossing, Cadiz and Gibraltar

6 Apr 2024

Well the weather but paid to our visit to Ponta Delgado in the Azores, so we ended up in Cadiz, which is a beautiful fortress city and the sun was shining. Made a change from the wet, windy and foggy six days at sea from Bermuda.

Walked around the town, saw the huge ficus trees, beautiful buildings and stopped for a beer.

Next day was Gibraltar, as planned, again the weather was playing it’s part and The Rock was completely covered in mist/fog. We bought a one day hopper ticket for the local buses and went from one side of Gibraltar to the other. We were here a few years ago for a long weekend and so much building has gone on since then, glad we didn’t hire a car, it was just chock a block with cars and no parking, the bus struggled to get round in some places. The mist finally lifted about 4pm so we could see the top!

On our final sea day we found out we had won the 10 Day Progressive Trivia with our friends Mercedes, Karen and Susan. Tshirts, certificates and a bottle of sparkling wine!

Now in Barcelona ready for our tour of Montserrat before our flight home this evening.
