Travelling from Lynton to Cornwall with a few visits on the way. Weather not so good typical sunshine and showers!
First drove through The Valley of the Rocks just outside Lynton, with the odd stop, really dramatic scenery with the odd goat or two and then a hair-raising drive through Woody Valley.
Second stop was Arlington Court owned by the Chichester family and gifted to the National Trust in the mid 1900s. The house although added to over the years is pretty much how it was when the family lived there. Original wallpaper from the 1800s. The Boudoir is again pretty much original. Lovely collection of snuff boxes. In the grounds is the National Carriage Museum, very interesting even has what would be classed as the first ‘campervan’.
Lastly RHS Rosemoor, some fabulous gardens, especially the cool and hot gardens. The kitchen garden was full of fruit, vegetables and herbs and loads of bees which is good to see. Rain was a bit of a dampener so will definitely come back in another season to see the gardens.
