Had a weekend in Scotland visiting our friends Sharon, Alan and the boys. Thanks to them for a great time.

Stopped at Carlisle Castle on the way up which had an informative Military Museum. Nigel got to play golf at Polkemmet with Alan which I am sure they both enjoyed! Not sure how many balls lost!
A visit to Glasgow on Sat with a bit of a walking tour to the Barras, Tollcross and obligatory purchase of a T-shirt at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Sunday took a trip to Blackness Castle with magnificent views of the three bridges over the Firth of Forth. Then a quick trip to South Queensferry again with views of the bridges and quaint shops before lunch in a local pub.
Visit to the Kelpies and Lanercost Priory on the way home. The Priory was built in 1169 and played a significant part as a staging post for Edward I in the war on Scotland before it became a ruin after a number of restorations. Nearby is a small section of Hadrians Wall.
