Our last port of call before we return to Buenos Aires which ends our 3 back to back cruises.
We moored so close to a Costa cruise ship that we thought we were going to crash! Also from our cabin we could see a Hard Rock Cafe shop! Unfortunately no large sized Tshirts, we will be back in a few weeks so fingers crossed for Nigel, they will have his size in the main shop at the other side of the city.
It seems Montevideo was named for Monte (meaning mountain) VI (6th) deo (from the East), so the sixth Mountain from the East! It’s the capital of Uruguay and is a sprawling city.
We took a walk around the old town which was full of old Spanish looking buildings. With two large squares and lots of museums. Many craft and souvenir stalls, it seems it’s the city’s 300th anniversary on Sat, so preparations were underway for a concert. It was a very hot day and had to keep to the shade as much as possible.
