Took a trip to Concha y Toro, the home of the Castillero del Diablo wine, although we tasted their premium brands, who are one of the top producers in Chile, trading since 1883. The names comes from a legend originated by early owners to scare the local people that a devil resides in the cellars! Since 2010 the wine company has partnered with Manchester United!
Interesting tour of the estate, about an hour from the centre. Lovely gardens and we were able to sample 3 wines with the initial tour but we added the Marques cheese board and 4 premium wine tastings. This was excellent and we both really liked the Sauvignon Blanc and the Chardonnay. I liked two of the reds, Carmenere (which Chile produces 95% of) and the Merlot.
Early night as we are off back to Argentina on the bus over the Andes to Mendoza
