Gozo

11 Dec 2025

After looking at all the options to get to Gozo, we decided on taking the rental car, to the port in the North of Malta and catching the ferry. You only pay on the return journey and for the car and us two it was just over €20 plus fuel, which as we only did about 60 miles in total, was not much. Gave us a lot of freedom to go where we wanted.

Visited the walled Citadella, very interesting and even went in a couple of the museums. Pity we couldn’t get a good view from afar, lots of buildings in the way.

Went off to see the cliffs to the South near Xlendi, road a little bumpy, but excellent views. Headed then to Dwerja, where there is an Inland Sea, unfortunately as the tide was a little low, not as impressive as it could have been.

Stopped off at the Artisan Village and acquired a piece of Gozo Glass and a watercolour.

Off via the Salt Pans to Marsalforn, a small fishing village, which was undergoing construction, as is the rest of the Island!

Thought about visiting the Giantress Rocks (Ggantija Temples) but decided to head back to the ferry.

Dinner on the waterfront, with the odd drink or two before heading back to our hotel.
